Retiring my own AI review bot

Building a pre-review bot to learn, then retiring it when the platform caught up.

Every pull request got a standards check before a human looked at it. When the platform’s own AI review reached parity, it took over that step and my bot was retired.

The problem

As Tech Lead over 30+ repositories, human review was the bottleneck, and reviewers spent time on standards checks a machine could do.

What I did

I built an AI pre-review bot that checked team standards on every pull request before a human looked at it.

The key decision and its tradeoff

Once platform-native AI review reached parity, I retired my own tool instead of maintaining a copy of a product feature.
